Took me 24 hours from Singapore to Paris to Chamonix to snap this shot. But I must say it was well worth my time and effort. Just a heads up, Chamonix is lcoated at the South part of France and if you would ever wish to travel there, flying to Geneva from Singapore will be a much better option.

Let's just say... Club Med Bali was a perfect getaway option. It was home away from home. The people were friendly, engaging you in every activity. There's not a single thing that I dislike from the heartwarming welcome from the beautiful G.Os to the deluxe bedroom that has a lawn connected to my friends' to the all-inclusive concept. And the view from the main restaurant or the reception counter overlooking the pool and bar was stunning. As for the weather, it was somewhat like Singapore. Erractic it is but nevertheless, the countless of activities in the resort will solve all your sorrows. The fact that I had to carry nothing except for my mobile and room key brightened me up. All we did was go up to the bartender and asked for drinks after drinks (it's all inclusive remember?).

The resort has everything you need so the thought of travelling to the city is pretty much the last thing on your mind unless your agenda of the vacation was to get some retail therapy on. And if you would like to venture out to Kuta's nightlife, it is only 30 minutes away from the home away from home.

Seeking for a short getaway without any flight expenses involved? Adore the sun, sand and sea? Be away from crowd? Go to Bintan during the weekdays. The accommodation and ferry rides aren't costly but do bear in mind, everything is in SGD. And if you love duty-free shopping for the cheap liquor and cigarettes, there is one before you board the ferry. So... fret not.

"Famous for its crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches, and the tropical fish that inhabit the numerous reefs, many within 50 feet of the shore." Those are the repeated words I found online before I booked my trip to Redang Island, the island which was famed after Chinese movie, Summer Holiday in 2000. Excited as usual, I couldn't wait to be overwhelmed by the untouched paradise.

If you're sick of the beach and streets, perhaps cruise might be your next alternative for a getaway. Nothing beats waking up in the morning knowing I'm in the middle of nowhere with a scenary of the vast ocean. I would say it's a different experience to that of jet, train and coach. If you adore all-you-can-eat buffets, casino or just chilling by the pool at the deck, you should be up for it! For first timers, think of it as a floating hotel.
